Mass storage infrastructure and historical data backup

The recommended infrastructure combines primary storage on enterprise disks (SAS or SSD) with a secondary layer on LTO tape or cold cloud storage. For large-volume historical data, redundancy (RAID 6 or equivalent) and an automated indexing system that allows locating records without relying on full backups are prioritized. We apply encryption at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3) for all archived data. Key management is performed using a hardware security module (HSM) or a secrets management service.
